Growing up in Reno with an appreciation for the Sierra mountain range, high desert and local urban areas, I walk as much as possible, pointing out beautiful vistas, flora and fauna with friends and family, and exploring new areas. I paint in oils, watercolors, do printmaking, and create hand painted and mosaic pieces of furniture.
I have taught art through the Nevada Museum of Art, Very Special Arts-NV, Wilbur D. May Museum, Arts for the Schools, public school outreaches and art programs, home school groups, and most recently with seniors. I have also taught private art lessons, and was an educational teacher in grades 4th through 6th grade for several years.
I have exhibited work at the Sheppard Gallery, Getchell Library, Truckee Meadows Community College, Wilbur D. May Museum, Friends of Nevada Wilderness, Raymond James Financial Services, and in downtown Reno during Artown Downtown, exhibiting an art door sponsored by Doors to Recovery in July 2016, and two group shows, Gordon Avenue Artists and David J. Drakulich Foundation in July 2017.
Three children, four step-children, eight grandchildren, my wonderful and supportive husband Bruce, and a mighty hunter cat keep me busy and happy. Oh, and books. Books make me happy too.
